Dated on: Monday 31st August 2026

Karnataka is preparing a common digital system to speed up recovery of dues ordered by RERA. The platform will integrate government databases to trace properties, vehicles and other assets linked to defaulting builders and their directors, helping authorities initiate attachment proceedings faster. As of August 10, 2,556 Revenue Recovery Certificates (RRCs) worth ₹1,214.3 crore had been issued, but only ₹123.8 crore had been recovered. This leaves ₹1,090.5 crore pending across 2,227 RRCs. K-RERA has also introduced a time-bound recovery SOP, allowing unpaid interest, penalties and compensation to be recovered as land-revenue arrears.
