Upon registration, every agent is issued a unique RERA registration number, valid for 5 years, which must be quoted in every real estate transaction they facilitate.
Under RERA, agents are also held accountable for the information they provide. Misrepresentation of project details can attract strict penalties — up to Rs. 10,000 per day, and a maximum of 5% of the project cost.
