Haryana RERA Orders Ansal Phalak to Pay 10.8% Interest for Delay

Haryana RERA has directed Ansal Phalak Infrastructure to pay homebuyers 10.8% annual interest for delayed possession of a flat in its Esencia project, Gurugram. The buyers had booked the 1,572 sq ft unit in 2012, with possession due by February 21, 2016. However, more than a decade later, possession has still not been offered and the project lacks an occupation certificate. The authority ordered interest from the original possession deadline until a valid possession offer, with arrears to be cleared within 90 days. The developer must also offer possession within 30 days of obtaining the occupation certificate.
