Haryana RERA Orders 3-Month Civil Imprisonment for Ansal Properties Director
Dated on: Monday 24th August 2026Haryana RERA’s Panchkula bench has ordered three months’ civil imprisonment for Jagat Chandra, a working director of Ansal Properties and Infrastructure Ltd., over alleged non-compliance with an authority order. The action followed Chandra’s failure to appear before the authority despite repeated opportunities, including a final opportunity considering his age and health. HRERA noted that a ₹5,000 cost previously imposed also remained unpaid. The authority exercised its civil-court powers under Section 40 of the RERA Act and Rule 27 of the HRERA Rules. An arrest warrant will be issued after the required subsistence allowance is deposited. The imprisonment will begin from the date of arrest.
