UP Launches OTS Scheme to Clear Pending Property Tax Dues
Dated on: Tuesday 11th August 2026The Uttar Pradesh government has introduced a four-month One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme to help property tax defaulters clear long-pending dues. The scheme will run from August 15 to December 15, 2026, across all 762 urban local bodies in the state. Eligible taxpayers can settle outstanding house, water and sewer taxes with relief on interest and surcharge, while the principal amount can be paid in up to three instalments. The initiative is aimed at reducing the financial burden on property owners, improving tax compliance and strengthening the revenue position of municipal bodies for better civic infrastructure and services.
