Maharashtra Sanctions Rs 5 Crore Each for Urban Development in Pune’s Newly Merged Villages

The Maharashtra Urban Development Department has approved Rs 5 crore each for 23 villages merged into the Pune Municipal Corporation and the Uruli Phursungi Municipal Council. The funds will support urban development projects focused on improving waste management, including vermicomposting and scientific garbage disposal, and enhancing water supply systems. Key areas like Ambegaon Budruk will receive attention to tackle odour issues at the garbage depot. Officials have also been asked to explore using treated water from the Jambhulwadi reservoir to meet local needs. Authorities aim for swift implementation to uplift civic infrastructure in these expanding urban areas.
