Himachal Pradesh Appoints New HP RERA Chairperson and Member After High Court Rap

The Himachal Pradesh government has appointed R.D. Dhiman as Chairperson and Amit Kashyap as Member of HP RERA following a High Court order. The appointments were made under Section 20 of the RERA Act, 2016, just before the June 25 deadline. The High Court had criticized the state for delaying the process and imposed a Rs 5 lakh cost. HP RERA had been inactive since December 2024 after the previous chairperson’s retirement. With the new appointments, the authority is expected to resume full operations. Both officials will serve a five-year term or until they reach the age of 65.
