
MahaRERA Cancels Registration of 18,700 Property Agents Over Compliance Failures
Dated on: Tuesday 20th May 2025MahaRERA has cancelled the registration of nearly 18,700 property agents in Maharashtra due to non-compliance with renewal and training requirements. Out of over 50,000 agents registered since 2017, around 32,000 remain active. The crackdown affected major areas like Mumbai, Thane, and Pune. Agents are now required to complete certified training covering legal processes and buyer protection norms. This move is part of MahaRERA’s broader effort to promote professionalism and accountability in the real estate sector by ensuring that only qualified and compliant agents operate in the market.
