Odisha Appoints Usha Padhee as Interim ORERA Chairperson Amid Leadership Vacancies

The Odisha government has appointed Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Department, as the interim chairperson of the Odisha Real Estate Regulatory Authority (ORERA). This move follows the retirement of the last serving member, Gopal Chandra Patnaik, and earlier exit of chairperson Siddhanta Das and member Pradeep Biswal, leaving the authority vacant. Padhee’s appointment ensures continuity in ORERA’s operations, including project approvals and regulatory oversight. She will serve under provisions of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, until further notice. Permanent appointments are reportedly finalized and awaiting clearance from the Chief Minister’s Office.
