MahaRERA Struggles With 7,500+ Pending Cases Amid Slow Enforcement

Maharashtra RERA is facing a backlog of over 7,500 pending complaints, causing major delays in hearings and enforcement. Despite efforts by Chairman Manoj Saunik to speed up the process by addressing up to 200 cases daily, the shortage of benches limits progress. Recovery warrants worth over Rs 700 crore remain largely unenforced due to non-compliance by developers and sluggish action from revenue authorities. This has left many homebuyers waiting for justice, with growing calls for stronger enforcement powers and stricter penalties to ensure accountability in the real estate sector.
