Property tax on building only after completion of work: Karnataka HC
Dated on: Tuesday 19th December 2023The High Court observed that property tax on a building can be levied once it is completed. Until then, the levy would only be on the vacant/open land. In response to a petition by M/s BM Habitat, Justice Suraj Govindaraj directed Mysuru City Corporation to collect property tax for the petitioner's multiplex building on Vinobhanagar Road, Jayalakshmipuram, from April 25, 2011, the date of the occupancy certificate.
