Maharashtra Builder ordered to refund Rs 1.94 Cr with interest to homebuyer, by RERA Authority

Dated on: Monday 16th October 2017

The Maharashtra RERA Authority, MahaRERA has made a massive judgment on one of the complaints filed against the builder Runwal Homes. The builder has been instructed to refund back Rs 1.94 Crores to the homebuyer with interest. This has proven to be the biggest setback to any builder until now.

The Homebuyers who had already paid 97% of the total amount were supposed to receive the flat in 2016, which got delayed. The builders proposed a completion date of December 2019 with the RERA Authority, following which complaint was filed by the homebuyers.

Taking all the facts into consideration and the delay of almost three years, the Authority decided to go in favor of the complainants.

However, the builder has also stated to challenge the order of Authority in High Court.
