Tamil Nadu Government Reconstitutes Real Estate Regulatory Authority

Dated on: Thursday 22nd October 2026

The Tamil Nadu government has reconstituted the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA), appointing retired IAS officer K. Phanindra Reddy as its chairperson. The newly appointed members include retired bureaucrats Reeta Harish Thakkar and Mythili K. Rajendran, retired district judge S. Kirubaharan Mathuram, and retired engineer-in-chief K. P. Sathyamurthy. The appointments follow an earlier six-month supersession of the authority, during which an interim panel managed its responsibilities. The reconstitution aims to restore the authority’s full regulatory structure and strengthen oversight of Tamil Nadu’s real estate sector.
