UP-RERA Pays ₹73.84 Lakh Interest to Complainants on Delayed RC Disbursements
Dated on: Tuesday 22nd September 2026UP-RERA has paid ₹73.84 lakh in interest to around 430 complainants where funds recovered through Recovery Certificates (RCs) remained in bank accounts before being disbursed. The total interest paid stands at ₹73,84,269.03. Recovery amounts collected from builders through the Revenue Department are kept in designated bank accounts until payment to eligible complainants. In some cases, disbursement was delayed because required documents, including affidavits, were not submitted. UP-RERA has decided to pass the bank interest earned during this intervening period to eligible complainants, calculated for the actual period the funds remained pending.
