Odisha Strengthens RERA System for Faster Housing Project Approvals

The Odisha government has improved its RERA approval mechanism by linking it with the SUJOG e-governance platform. This integration allows planning authorities to directly notify ORERA when housing projects are approved, enabling quicker registration and monitoring. As part of an eight-point action plan, the move aims to enhance transparency, streamline processes, and ensure regulatory compliance. ORERA will now receive real-time updates on project progress, improving accountability. The initiative also empowers ORERA to revoke registrations of non-compliant projects, as seen in a recent Bhubaneswar case lacking proper access roads.
