MahaRERA Becomes First in India to Register Over 50,000 Housing Projects

MahaRERA has registered over 50,000 housing projects, marking the highest in India and accounting for about 35% of the country’s total under RERA. The Konkan region, which includes Mumbai, has the most registrations, followed by Pune. Districts like Thane, Raigad, and Mumbai suburbs also contribute significantly. Launched in 2017 under the RERA Act, MahaRERA promotes transparency in real estate. The steady rise in project numbers reflects Maharashtra’s growing housing demand and ongoing urban growth, according to its chairman.
